Yamaha YAS-62III Alto Saxophone
About this instrument
The YAS-62III is the saxophone that earned its place as the gold standard for stepping into Yamaha’s professional tier. Yamaha quality is what it is, consistent and reliable across every unit they ship. You do not need to play-test five examples to find a good one. They are all good. That is the point.
What the III generation brings: the redesigned 62-style neck with a narrower bore taper for faster response and tighter intonation, hand-engraved bell, leather pads with metal resonators, ribbed construction for a solid fundamental, hard steel needle springs throughout, and a high F# key. The kind of details serious players actually notice.
Brand new, gold lacquer, never played. Ships with the Yamaha case and 4C mouthpiece, which is Yamaha’s go-to setup that plenty of players keep as their daily driver for years. At RM 11,900, this is the most accessible point in Yamaha’s professional saxophone lineup. The Custom Z and Custom EX run roughly double the price for refinements many players genuinely do not need. If you have been on a YAS-280 or YAS-480 and are ready to step up, this is the one to take.
