Most clarinets we carry sit in the step-up zone where serious players live for years: Buffet Crampon, Yamaha, and the occasional vintage piece worth a look. Both Bb and A clarinets when we can source them. Each listing has its own condition and service notes so you know what you are getting before you commit.

Bb is the everyday clarinet, used in band, jazz, chamber music, and most repertoire. The A clarinet is pitched a semitone lower and exists because some orchestral and chamber music sits more comfortably in keys that are awkward on a Bb. Serious orchestral clarinetists own both. Most other players only need a Bb.
Yes, more than people new to clarinet expect. Grenadilla (African blackwood) gives a warmer, more complex tone and is what virtually all professional clarinets are made from. Plastic clarinets are tougher, weather-resistant, and fine for marching band or outdoor playing where wood would crack. For indoor classical or chamber work, wood wins.
