The Yamaha YCL-450N is a proper intermediate clarinet for players who have outgrown their student horn and want something that actually responds musically. The grenadilla wood body produces a warm, focused tone that plastic instruments simply cannot match, and the keywork is smooth, responsive, and projects confidently without being harsh.

Rated 8.5 out of 10, with pads and keys in superb shape. The only thing it could use is a light polishing of the keywork, which is purely cosmetic. Mechanically, everything plays exactly as it should. For an intermediate grenadilla clarinet at this price, you would be hard pressed to find better value in KL.

Our comment

We tested the clarinet, and the condition and playability are very good. Pads and keys in superb condition. The sound is solid and it projects well. The owner did not play it for very long, and only the nickel silver keywork needs some polishing to look shiny again. other than that, the instrument is in very good condition, with a grenadilla wood body. Definitely a good buy!
