About this instrument

The Yamaha YFL-472 is built for flutists ready to step up from a student instrument. Full sterling silver construction delivers the rich, projecting tone that silver is known for, with a warmth and complexity that nickel silver simply cannot replicate. The open-hole keys develop proper technique, while the split E mechanism makes that tricky high E speak clearly every time.

Purchased in 2019 and maintained in excellent condition throughout. Rated 9 out of 10, with no dents or tarnishing issues. This is a beautifully kept instrument ready for its next player. At this price point, a sterling silver Yamaha in this condition is genuinely hard to come by.

Our comment

A clean step-up flute from a meticulous owner. Sterling silver throughout, open hole French keys, C foot, and the CY headjoint that gives the 472 line its more open response. Hardly played, so the action and pads are tight. If you are moving past a beginner flute, this is exactly the kind of instrument that gets you through years of serious practice without holding you back.
